Position Summary:
The Membership and Fundraising Coordinator at the Independent Shopkeepers Association (ISA) plays a key role in supporting Oklahoma’s local retail community. ISA is all about helping independent shopkeepers thrive by providing resources, education and a strong network of like-minded business owners. We also advocate for local retailers to make sure their voices are heard and their businesses feel supported in growing Oklahoma’s economy and culture.
In this role, you’ll focus on growing our community and funding through creative fundraising campaigns and strong relationship-building. You’ll identify and secure new sponsorships, maintain relationships with current partners and find fresh ways to raise funds for our mission. On the membership side, you’ll develop strategies to attract new members, work with current members to understand their needs and ensure they see real value in being part of ISA.
You’ll visit independent retailers across Oklahoma, build connections and work with our Marketing & Event Coordinator to create programs that drive membership and fundraising success. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Essential Functions:
Fundraising
Seek out potential donors and uncover new partnership opportunities that align with our mission.
Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential new sponsors, making them eager to join our cause.
Build a pipeline of sponsorship opportunities by identifying, contacting and securing new supporters.
Brainstorm and create new methods to raise funds for our organization.
Nurture relationships with current and past sponsors, ensuring their needs are met.
Membership
Develop and roll out targeted strategies to grow and retain our membership base, including personalized outreach, engaging activities and attractive membership incentives.
Hit the road across Oklahoma, visiting independent retailers, making connections and sharing why being part of our community matters.
Stay tuned into what our members need—work closely with them to gather feedback and find ways to make their membership even better.
Manage membership renewals and keep our membership database up-to-date and organized.
Work with our Marketing & Event Coordinator to implement programming aimed towards increasing membership and/or fundraising.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree is great but if you’ve got real-world experience in fundraising, communications or working with small businesses, we’re all ears.
Experience:
You’ve got at least 2 years under your belt in fundraising, membership-building, sales or working directly with community organizations. Bonus points if you’ve worked with small business owners or in a nonprofit setting!
You’ve successfully raised money, grown a network or created amazing connections in a professional or volunteer capacity.
Skills:
You’re a natural people-person who can strike up a conversation with anyone and leave a lasting impression.
Organization is your superpower—you can juggle projects, deadlines and relationships like a pro.
Public speaking doesn’t scare you and you’re confident pitching ideas to groups or individuals.
You’re comfortable with tech and proficient with Google Workspace and Adobe.
You’re all about teamwork but can just as easily get things done on your own. You’re self-motivated and goal-oriented.
You’re ready to hit the road, visiting local retailers across Oklahoma to build relationships and share our mission.
Compensation/Schedule :
$18 hourly
Laptop provided
Mileage reimbursement
Flexible schedule and remote work options
Part-time – 20 hours per week, fluctuates depending on season
